COSHH assessment & chemical storage compatibility
Assess the task and the exposure, not just the chemical. Maintain your chemical inventory, generate COSHH assessments, and check storage compatibility with a traceable, rule-based engine.
This tool supports the preparation and management of COSHH assessments and chemical storage decisions. It does not replace competent professional judgement, current Safety Data Sheets, supplier instructions, occupational hygiene assessment or applicable legal requirements. Every compatibility and risk result shown here states its own reasoning and source — review both before relying on it.

Every tile is clickable and opens the exact records behind it.

AI-assisted SDS extraction
Extracted values are never saved automatically. Review each field against the cited section, page and quotation, then Accept, Edit or Reject it -- only accepted or edited fields are filled into the form above, and nothing reaches your inventory until you click Save chemical.
Ready for a COSHH assessment?
Start a draft assessment for this chemical -- its verified hazard, storage and exposure-control facts carry forward automatically, each shown with its source. You still enter the task, review every suggestion, and run the risk engine yourself.
Overview
Chemical storage compatibility matrix
Every cell is clickable. A pair with no substance-specific SDS statement and no matching compatibility-group rule is shown as Unknown — never as compatible.
Add at least two chemicals to your inventory to see a compatibility matrix.
Compatibility detail
Storage-location conflicts
Checked at room/cabinet/rack/shelf level — a chemical pair can conflict here even if you have not yet reviewed the full matrix.
No storage-location conflicts detected among chemicals with an assigned location.
Visual storage planner
Every occupied location, grouped by building / room / cabinet / rack / shelf, bordered by its worst compatibility result. Only data already recorded on each chemical's own SDS is shown -- no separation distances are invented.
No storage locations recorded yet.

Action register
Every action traces to why it exists -- a QA finding, a revalidation change, a monitoring result, a storage conflict, or a manual entry.
No actions match the current filters.

Methodology and sources
Compatibility results are produced by a layered, traceable rule engine: substance-specific SDS Section 7/10 statements first, then a seeded, HSG71-informed compatibility-group reference. An unmatched pair is always shown as Unknown, never as compatible. Risk classifications are reached by a named set of task- and exposure-based rules, never a hidden numerical score — every result lists exactly which rules fired.
Primary references: HSE COSHH practical assessment and control guidance, HSE HSG71 (Chemical warehousing), HSE HSG51 (Storage of flammable liquids in containers), DSEAR, UK REACH and GB CLP. This tool does not represent compliance with any of these and does not replace competent professional judgement.
